The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme provides a self-paced online course on UNDP Cap-Net’s Virtual Campus for practitioners interested in designing and implementing action plans to improve Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in a multi-stakeholder process.

The course takes each participant primarily through a comprehensive training aimed at designing government-endorsed multi-stakeholder action plans to improve IWRM implementation. From concept to implementation, the course provides a clear guide and transferable project management expertise for the successful roll out of action planning activities under Stage 2 of the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme. From the definition of why having an IWRM Action Plan is important to the creation of a multi-stakeholder engagement process and the design of a monitoring system for implementation of the actions, this training will offer you everything you need to design and implement a successful IWRM Action Plan.

The course is based on information presented in the Acceleration Package for IWRM action planning prepared by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme and other relevant resources.

The course is customisable and self-paced, and will require around 8-15 hours, depending on participants’ prior knowledge and engagement with reading material, discussion fora and completing assessments.

The course is available on the UNDP Cap-Net Virtual Campus in EnglishFrench and Spanish.
