In 2019, the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Sanitation with the support of the Kenya Water Partnership organised a multi-stakeholder process to develop a national IWRM Action Plan owned by the relevant mandated national institutions that would results in tangible and sustainable impact and progress towards achieving the other SDG 6 targets and broader water-related goals.
The result is an Action Plan consisting of six priority actions covering all four of the IWRM dimensions. The action planning process was supported by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
