Description / Abstract

In 2019, under the leadership of the Cameroon Ministry of Water and Energy and with the technical support of GWP Central Africa, a multi-stakeholder process was implemented to design a 2030 IWRM Action Plan based on an analysis of the 2017 country baseline survey on SDG 6.5.1 implementation.

The objective of this process was to identify existing governance challenges and to design an Action Plan for integrated water resources management in line with national plans and with priority actions on the short-, mid-, and long-term for the timeframe 2019-2030 that could help advance in SDG 6 and other water-related SDGs.

The result is an Action Plan consisting of eleven action points adopted for implementation and covering all four of the IWRM dimensions. The action planning process was supported by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
