A book on IWRM in practice in Central Asia introduces theoretical approaches and results of practical implementation of IWRM principles over the region, mostly within the project "IWRM in Fergana Valley".  In this book, the concept of IWRM is assessed by analogy with "integrated energy managment" or "integrated agricultural management".  Distinguishing feature of IWRM in comparision with other proponents is only that water as a renewable resource has different forms (or types) which are replaceable.

The book includes a special section describing Management Information System elaborated and actually operable for IWRM in Fergana Valley.
